Testing 24/7, Ready to go

UV, solar and corrosion testing

Over the years, we have accumulated experience about thousands of colour measurements and carried out more than 500,000 testing hours of various UV, solar and corrosion tests. Samples have included not only plastics, metals, coatings and paints but also base stations, defence equipment and vehicle cabins.

Testing will begin soon after arrival the samples. The samples are returned to the customer in one day after completion of the test via DHL, our partner in logistics. A test report is delivered to the customer also promptly, normally within two working days.

“Solar Simulator Oy was extremely accommodating and supportive in verifying the test set-up with a pre-test as well as providing daily updates with DUT’s visual inspection for prompt alert if any change to the DUT occurred during the daily solar exposure cycles. We would not have been able to obtain the test results within the required time frame, without their excellent customer service. Thank you for your excellent customer service.”

Large-scale Solar Lab with SSF42-2004-Artificial-Sun

The large scale solar laboratory combines a large scale solar simulator and a temperature and humidity controlled laboratory room. The simulated climatic conditions can be varied from a hot and dry desert climate to cyclically changing customized conditions. We test tiny plastic components and cabins of heavy vehicles, and everything between.

In cyclic testing, the variations in conditions can be created relatively freely. During humid cycles, the relative humidity can be increased up to 80 %. Exposure to heat and humidity can also be performed without the solar stress.

Technical specification:

  • SSF42-2004-Artificial-Sun, Large Scale Solar Simulator, 42 kW, modular
  • Volume 350 m3
  • Height 6 m
  • Spectral match: Sun AM1.5 (CIE85)
  • 3D testing
  • Intensity of radiation (UV+VIS+IR) 0 − 1500 W/m2
  • Ambient temperature +20℃ − +55℃
  • Humidity RH 10 % − 80 %
  • Uniformity better than +/-10 %

For shoebox-size or smaller samples, an even wider variety of test conditions can be chosen:

  • Temperature: -70℃ − +300℃
  • RH: 10 % − ~100 %
  • Intensity of radiation: 0 − 2500 W/m2 (UV+VIS+IR)

Smooth Process

Our way of working is efficient, fast and customer-oriented. The test process covers the exposure, monitoring, measurement and reporting, as well as the smooth logistics.

Testing will begin soon after arrival the samples. The samples are returned to the customer in one day after completion of the test via DHL, our partner in logistics. A test report is delivered to the customer also promptly, normally within two working days.
