MISSION

Solar Simulator Finland focuses on producing new information on the
durability, functionality and usability of our customers' products under
sunshine and other environmental conditions. We carry out solar
radiation, uv radiation and environmental testing services. We also
give consultation on these matters.

The aims of our tests are to give information for our customers’ product
development and to assist our customers marketing by giving them tools
to explain about the quality, durability and behaviour of the product under
certain environmental conditions. These targets are reached by our
expertise in know how, test equipment, documentation and reports.



ENVIRONMENT

Proudly since 2004 we are committed green energy. We use Pohjois-Karjalan Sähkö Oy (PKS) environmental electricity supply. This is a solid contribution to a cleaner
environment and gives a true impact for a more environmentally friendly
electricity production in the future.

PKS environmental electricity is produced by Bio energy, Wind power
and Hydro power (constructed before 1996). It complies with the requirements
of renewable energy sources set by the Finnish Association for Nature
Conservation.

In addition the warm air produced by artificial sun in our Solar Lab heats up totally
our new research and office building. We do not need any extra heating.
20 m² of solar thermal collector produces all domestic hot water from March to
October.


QUALITY

The quality can be divided into two fragments: Technical quality and
Operational quality. Technical quality consists of non-human functions e.g.
calibrations and functionality of testing equipment, whereas operational
quality consists of customer service and good general practice of personnel.
These two together form the Quality image experienced by the customer.

Our Quality System is based on ISO/IEC 17025 'General requirements for
the competence of testing laboratories'. Management system is expanded
to cover all of our business activities and it's development. The key elements
of quality system are equal to ISO 9001:2000 and other advanced quality
systems. Top management is committed to comply with the relevant
requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 and continually to improve the effectiveness
of the management system.


ECONOMICS

We are a company which creates power for economic future. We have consecutively achieved a high Rating Alfa classification by Suomen Asiakastieto Oy, which is only achieved
by every tenth company in Finland. We are a loyal testing partner and
we have a high security level at our premises.


HISTORY

The roots of Solar Simulator Finland are in the Department of Applied Physics
(University of Turku, Solar Energy Research Group 1979- ).
